This international competition is organized by POLI.design, a consortium founded by Porada\u2014a leading company in furniture and interior design\u2014and the Politecnico di Milano.<br\/>In its 13th edition, the competition focuses on sofas, prioritizing originality, innovation, and the search for new design solutions. It will reward the most creative proposals submitted by Italian and international students and professionals working in the design field.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Projects must use solid wood as the primary material (though it doesn\u2019t have to be the only one) and should be combined with other materials from the Porada collection (e.g., leather, fabric, marble, ceramic, etc.). The goal is to express Porada\u2019s values and identity and promote the use of traditional woodworking processes and production technologies. At the same time, projects must embody functionality, compliance with safety standards, ergonomic requirements, and an eco-conscious, sustainable design approach.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications are accepted only via the online platform and must be submitted by January 31, 2026.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Porada CEO Tiziano Allievi notes:<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs soon as the 2024 edition ended, we started working on the 2025 competition. This year, for the first time, we chose sofas as the theme \u2014 a category added to Porada\u2019s product range relatively in recent years. As with beds, we expect exciting projects from all over the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">POLI.design CEO Cabirio Cautela adds:<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019re pleased to once again support PORADA in this competition. This award has already become a global benchmark in furniture design, and we\u2019re ready to continue on this path. The competition is rooted in Politecnico di Milano\u2019s product design traditions and enables new talents to emerge. With initiatives like this, we aim to shape the future of the Italian Design System and offer young designers real career opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A jury of industry experts from Porada, POLI.design, and ADI will evaluate the projects and select the winners. The evaluation criteria include: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Originality<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Degree of innovation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pursuit of new design solutions in solid-wood craftsmanship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experimentation with materials<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Surface treatments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identification of new use scenarios and forecasting of furniture concepts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Typological, technological, and morphological characteristics of sofas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The jury will select three winners in each category (Students and Professionals) and present the Giacomo Allievi Special Prize.<br\/>The total prize fund is \u20ac11,000.
